So Parade Day kinda took the wind out of my sails this weekend as far as posting goes so I’ll be dishing out as much new music as I can this week between studying and the like. First track to catch you up on is the free release Ratchet from Canadian bass duo Zeds Dead who if you’re not yet familiar, are GODS of bringing a menacing sound. This track is an ode to all things ratchet (my new favorite word in the entire world) so it should come as no surprise that it starts off with some vocals from the Juicy J. These two also dropped an essential mix for BBC Radio 1 this past weekend filled with tracks from their Hot Sauce EP and plenty of unreleased goodies.

Last week after releasing their wonderful clarity remix Torro Torro also released their remix of Zeds Dead’s “Cowboy.” Another remix well done. A heavy tune that adds to Torro Torro’s resume of remixes. This song has a similar feel to a lot of their remixes, but with one added component…lasers. Gives a little boost to their usual sounds, and make the song sound great. Definitely one of my favorite tunes at the moment. Be sure to take a listen and enjoy.

Today was the first time in a while that I haven’t been able to find something to post when I sat down to write. Thankfully Nemo didn’t stop Canadaian bass music duo Zeds Dead from giving us a soundtrack to pass the time during the storm. DC and Hooks recently wrote a guest post for InTheMix laying out their top five influences which you can read here; after reading you can absolutely see how they could include everything from Outkast’s Bombs over Baghdad to Burnin Up (The Rebirth) from Dillon Francis to Luminox’s remix of Epic. Torro Torro is back with another remix. Recently played on Bro Safari’s mix on Diplo and Friends Radio Show a couple weeks back; this remix of Zeds Dead Cowboy is something you need to hear. Torro Torro fuses their classic sound with a new, harder, laser-like style. Turn up your speakers for this one, because you’ll be rocking your head back and forth for this epic remix. It was just announced on Torro Torro’s twitter that it will be seeing an official release sometime in February so stay tuned.

Bass music. That is what Zeds Dead does. Blending their limitless library of unique tones with their influences of dubstep, hip-hop, trap and everything inbetween, they create some of the most amazing soundscapes I’ve ever heard. Their Hot Sauce EP is gonna be released on Mad Decent on 1/29 and this mix samples the five tracks that you will find on the release. Tracks like Mr. Sub are a surprising deviation from what you’d expect while Demons is about as nightmare inducing as you’d come to expect from the Canadian duo.

On the ever growing list of reasons I wish I could teleport to the west coast at my whim, not being able to get to the HARD Day of the Dead show on November 3rd at Historic Park in LA. The Jane Doze – Bullshittin On My Coffee Break

I’m not saying this is new by any stretch of the imagination but after stumbling upon this a couple weeks ago, I haven’t been able to get this one out of my head. Big Sean’s verses sit perfectly in the glitchy, sample-driven soundscape of the Zeds Dead production so big ups to The Jane Doze to recognize that. You may recognize these ladies special touch as seen on their marriage of Language & Call Me Maybe…one of the most unlikely combinations you could ever find.
