Following the radio success of the original, Rihanna has released a star-studded remix of her single “Pour It Up”. Featuring new verses from Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Juicy J, and T.I., the track boasts a lot of luxury life talk and next to nothing else. This shiny, but ultimately empty remix is for people who thought the original wasn’t vapid enough, and comes complete with additional bass lines for those who are not impressed with big names pontificating about their personal wealth. The hip hop Psy? Unfortunately, I’ve fallen victim to the original “All Gold Everything” (as I’ve played it like 100 times). Also, the “Popped A Molly I’m Sweatin’” thing has taken off with a LeBron video, followed by Dillon Francis popping a molly, and even a remix from our buddy Aylen. Regardless, this song isn’t going anywhere for a while as Trinidad James just signed a two million dollar record deal.

Verse Simmonds and Young Jeezy are two cats that are definitely “bout that life”. Not only leading a burgeoning career as a solo artist, Simmonds lines up alongside Sham to form the production duo, The Jugganauts (Jay-Z and Kanye West “Who Gon Stop Me”), while his guest is head of the Corporate Thugz Entertianment label, the recently-hired Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records, and not to mention one of the best rappers to ever emerge from the South.
But for their new collaboration, a relatively minimal, yet nonetheless club-catered, synth-lead number, the pair place the spotlight on the bad bitches of the world who are also “bout that life”. The track serves as the lastest sample of Simmonds’ “Sex, Love & Hip-Hop 2.0 Reloaded” project (“Sex, Love & Hip-Hop’s” sequel), which hits the ‘net for free on September 5th.

Is there anyone killin it as of late more than Top Dawg Entertainment? The independent label based around Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul & Jay Rock decide to dedicate a full week of releases to their huge fanbase for free from each of the guys as well as a video diary entry which is worth the watch. Its so nice hearing Tip Harris’ voice on tracks again. T.I.’s out of jail and looking to get back to business usual as “King of the South” and hopping on a track with Jeezy Luda and rising star Future is definitely a way to do it. I can listen to Ludacris rap for days and Future’s appearance marks his new level of exposure on a track hosted by Drama. Enjoy!
