50 Cent – We Up ft. Kendrick Lamar (Official Video)

50 Cent - We Up

50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar debut the official music video for “We Up”, the new single from 50′s Street King Immortal which is due out sometime this summer. Watch as 50 and Kendrick enjoy some of the finer things in life, all while showcasing their rhyme capabilities over a smooth instrumental. The previous visual for this track featured Kidd Kidd, who was later removed. Sucks to suck sometimes.

Dillon Francis – Drunk All The Time [UMF 2013]

Dillon Francis - Drunk All The Time [UMF 2013]

In typical fashion, Dillon Francis threw down a very diverse, high energy set during his slot at the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival 2013. Notably included in this set was an unreleased song, ironically believed to be called “Drunk All The Time”. With a rhythmic, fat bass and pleasant, harmonic vocals, it’s yet another example of how no one gets a crowd hyped quite like Dillon Francis. We can only hope to hear this jam during his March 23 set for the second weekend of Ultra Music Festival 2013.

Zedd – Clarity ft. Foxes (Live On David Letterman)

Mark this as a monster win for the increasing public perception of electronic music. For those of you that don’t understand the radical musical talent behind the production of artists like Zedd, this shows you the potential of the movement. Zedd made his first network television appearance tonight backed by a string section of six, Foxes and a backup vocalist (IS THAT ALVIN RISK!?) and did the entire electronic movement more than proud in my humble opinion by performing a beautiful rendition of the title track from his debut album Clarity. Here’s a personal congratulations to Anton Zaslavski; thanks for the reaffirmation that the sky is in fact the limit.

A$AP Rocky - Long.Live.A$AP (Official Video)

A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited debut album, Long.Live.A$AP, leaked last week and now the gold grilled Harlem rapper unleashes the project’s title track with the official music video. Aside from the fact that A$AP has been straight killing the game, the music video for Long.Live.A$AP is phenomenally artistic and holds great symbolism. Long.Live.A$AP arrives January 15th, 2013!

A while back we posted the standout track off Talib Kweli’s most recent mixtape entitled “Outstanding” featuring Ryan Leslie, which has since been slated to appear on Talib’s next full length feature LP. The video has now been released and we thought we’d be doing y’all a disservice if we didn’t share it.

Zedd Clarity Foxes Acoustic Version Video

There is something undeniable about anything that Zedd puts his hands on. Whether it’s a gritty grimy tracks like Stache, powerful songs like Spectrum or just straight classics like the title track of his Breakthrough Record of the Year according to iTunes, you know its the highest quality out right now. Blending the perfect amount of bass with the type of melodies only a classically trained pianist could bring to life, this stripped down piano version just goes to prove what kind of talent is behind these productions.

Earl Sweatshirt – Chum

Chum

Another late night, and another post that I’m so hyped for. This one may not be fresh-off-the-press for some of you who follow the genre’s every move, but it’s a must-listen for rap fans. For those who don’t know (essentially everyone reading this), Earl Sweatshirt is one of my favorite rappers out there. The smoothness with which he moves through bars is just hypnotizing, and his new track Chum is just a magnificent example. Not much to add-on at this point, but hopefully you find Earl’s ability to melt lines together as intriguing as I do. Take a listen and download the 320 below.

PS: Keep an eye out for his album “Doris”!

50 Cent Says French Montana Gave Him DJ Khaled Tape From ’09 (Update: French & 50 Exchange Tweets)

0

This week 50 Cent joked about French Montana and his music career, dubbing him the “new Ja Rule”. Yesterday, as more interview footage surfaces with 50 while he is on his full promo tip, he revealed that he knew French Montana for awhile, during his DVD days.

While talking to Big Boy on Power 106, 50 was asked what his relationship was like with French prior to his success, “I ran into him a few times, he was like a DVD dude. He would come and shoot DVD’s and stuff (as the camera person). You could tell he always wanted to be an artist, or be a part of being seen,” 50 said.

Fif goes on to reveal that during the period of time he was beefing with MMG boss Rick Ross, the Bad Boy rapper actually helped him by selling out DJ Khaled and giving him the tape of footage from Khaled’s mother’s house which he released in 2009. “When I got into it with Rick Ross and Khaled, I saw Khaled at the BET Awards when that happened, but I don’t actually remember seeing Ross, that sparked his interest or the things he said on his record to start. But I think that’s a part of hip hop, where a new artist attacks an established artist in order to generate the interest. That happened, I didn’t know who Rick Ross was, so I had to take a look. I do my homework, I find somebody who know somebody, that can give me some information, like who is. Frenchie, they got me the tape of his mother’s house, where his mom’s work at, the other cribs, the studios [Khaled's tape]. I ain’t taking no L’s”.

Watch the interview with Fif below. As well in the second video 50 talks on addressing Game on “My Life”, and says he has “no malice” for the rapper, although he thinks his career is done.
