CHANGE. - Bomb (Zedd x Audien x The Killers x Matthew Koma x Deadmau5)

I stand by the fact that it is reeeeeeeally easy to make a really bad mashup but there’s some serious skill that involves making legitimately good mashups. We’ve featured CHANGE. on numerous occasions (most recently for his remix of Summit) and this time he comes through with a track that perfectly combines elements of 5 different artists…from his mouth below:

If you’ve been following my Music for some time now, you’ll know I started off doing what every other person trying to make it in this business did/does – Mashups. I try to think my style of doing these repetitive things separates me from the rest of the storming herd. Anyway, I hope you you enjoy this blend of amazing original tunes from my personal favorite collection.

The Killers – Runaways (RAC Mix)

The Killers - Runaways (RAC Mix)

I’m gonna start off by stating that I had absolutely NO idea that RAC stands for the Remix Artist Collective so hey…the more you know. Turns out “that guy RAC” is actually an international collection of remixers and producers (most notably André Allen Anjos who did this particular mix) from around the world who remix songs but look to stay away from the “club mix” archetype and this is a damn good example. Of the 293874 remixes of The Killers’ hit Runaways that came out upon its release, this might easily take the cake for me as my favorite. Chilled out, good vibes, poppy 80’s synths…this is a certified winner.

The Shameless Shuffle #006

Yeah I know. I kinda slacked with this one for a while (to the tune of almost 3 months) but after a revisiting the mission statement of TNJ this weekend with my brother, I’m making a commitment to keeping up with The Shameless Shuffle. One of our goals here is to take the foot off the gas occasionally to appreciate the music we used to love; while the motto here is “new is always better”, sometimes there’s nothing better than discovering those lost iTunes gems. We got 5 tunes that go from classic Scarface hip-hop to the alternative stylings of AFI, Classic Tribe and The Killers to the grungy electronic sounds of The M Machine. For those of you wondering, Classic Tribe is a band from my home town that is no longer together but has some of the most complex guitar work and overall musicality that I’ve heard in a while.

Scarface – My Block

Classic Tribe – Little Boots

The M Machine – Glow (Original Mix)

The Killers – Mr. Brightside

AFI – Miss Murder

Electro – The Killers – Somebody Told Me (Aylen Remix)

Aylen never fails to release a quality product and this huge remix of The KillersSomebody Told Me is no exception. 2012 has proven to be a monstrous year for Aylen already and with summer fast approaching, the sky’s the limit for this multi-dimensional producer. He provides some great melodies to compliment the already stunning vocals of Brandon Flowers that evolve into a pulsing electro house bass line that’s sure to get support from some major Djs.

Great addition to any Friday night playlist when you need a jump off so be sure to grab the download and enjoy!
