Package of Electronic songs #2
If you don’t know this by now, I am a huge fan of anything that is remotely in the realm of dubstep. Although as of late i’ve been trying to expand my horizons on the electronic music I listen to, and the artists I listen to. Below are bunch of tracks that once again encompass many genres of electronic music. Some of these are much more well known then others. Be sure to listen to them all, because it never hurts to try the widen the array of music that one listens to.

Skrillex – Summit (SPAVEECH & CHANGE Bootleg)
1It is a small world out there on the internet. A couple of weeks ago we received a submission from upcoming producer SPAVEECH and although we liked his trapped out remix of Rock The House, it got lost in the shuffle and unfortunately never got a post. Fast forward to today and CHANGE., one of my favorite artists to look out for on my SoundCloud just released a bootleg using the aforementioned SPAVEECH’s remix of Summit. The original Skrillex tune was one of my favorites and has been remixed by everyone and their mother including Krewella & Aylen; needless to say it has to be something special to get my attention. They intertwine Sonny’s haunting vocals with layers of synths and flawlessly build the track into a frenzied electro drop that I would expect out of an earlier Porter Robinson production.

Skrillex Ft. Alvin Risk – Imma Try It Out (Unreleased)
0Almost a year ago “Imma Try It Out” was played by Alvin Risk, and although originally thought to be a solo release, it turned it was a collaboration with Skrillex. Months later, it was featured in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 video game, although wasn’t on the soundtrack. The version featured in the game was a lot different then the individual and we can only hope that this song will see a real release; like much of the music made by Skrillex, it’s always up in the air. For now we can just add this to the list of Skrillex Unreleased Music. Skrillex even released a snippet of a VIP remix of the song in early January, which I personally think is unbelievable. Check out all the versions below, and lets hope for a release one day.

[Breaking News] Skrillex Wins Best Dance/Electronica Album/Recording For ‘Bangarang’
0What a day. After doing some guerilla marketing in NYC for the day (check the pictures on Instagram: @ThatNewJam), Scott and I are on the way to view The GRAMMYs at The 40/40 Club and it was only right to throw hte pre-telecast show on for the hell of it. Turns out we got it just in time to see Skrillex get yet another win GRAMMY win, this time in Best Dance/Electronica Album for Bangarang. This project saw Sonny Moore explore more styles and sounds such as the infectious 110 BPM party track and the haunting downtempo song Summit with at-the-time girlfriend Ellie Goulding. The album also contained collaborations with The Doors and Wolfgang Gartner. Other equally-deserving nominees in the album category included Kaskade, deadmau5, Steve Aoki & The Chemical Brothers. At the risk of sounding biased, I’m fairly confident that this category will find itself on the primetime telecast in the coming years and we’d like to extend a huge congrats to Sonny!
UPDATE: Skrilex also won Best Dance Recording for the actual track of Bangarang as well.
I SUCK SO BAD AT ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES…I am officially the most awkward public speaker in the world.,BUT THANK YOU!!

Skrillex, Zedd, Sebastian Ingrosso & Others Sign Residencies at New Las Vegas Club LIGHTS w/ Cirque du Soleil
0Love it or hate it, the electronic music phenomenon is in it for the long haul. Turns out that the people at Cirque du Sole are on board to help Skrillex begin his residency at newly opening Las Vegas nightclub LIGHTS in the Mandalay Bay hotel on April 26th. Moving from the main stage of major music festivals to the cutting edge of club life will be an adjustment for Sonny Moore but thankfully he doesn’t have to go it alone. The Vegas club is also bringing in 1/3 of Swedish House Mafia in Sebastian Ingrosso and up & coming superstar Zedd who has been helping Lady Gaga on her upcoming Artpop album. In the Rolling Stone article that you can see in the hat-tip below, Skrillex is described as “cautious” of using the Cirque du Sole dancers as a part of his show:
“It’s not about having acrobats for my set,” he says. “For me, personally, the objective is to have something based around your music and something you want to dance to, not something you want to stare at the whole time. But how do you make the environment completely immersive? I think that’s the goal for my show, at least.”
Zedd goes on to add that his time working with Lady Gaga has really brought him to think of the live performance of his music in a different way:
“Gaga’s a really great example. We’ve seen all sorts of production in dance music, but when I personally watched her production for the first time, I was reminded of how much there is we did not think of yet, and one big part of it is maybe the human touch,” he says. “We can have the brightest lights and everything we want to have, but what I liked about Gaga’s show was [that] there’s a lot of humanity; there are a lot of dancers and it’s almost like a theater play with music. I could see parts of that in the whole LIGHT concept.”
Regardless, this is just another huge step in the world of electronic dance music and further proof that it’s traction in the mainstream and business lights is here to stay. Sound off in the comments with which DJ you’d wanna see get a residency in Sin City!

Skrillex Confirms New Album Due Out Summer 2013
0On January 24th Skrillex played a re-scheduled show at New City Gas in Montreal along with Alvin Risk. It was his first time touring in two weeks, and decided to test out some new tracks. Then towards the end of the concert he announced ” this is the last time you’ll hear this song until i come back with my new record in the summer.” He recently announced on a live stream (only for Nest members) that he won’t be touring for the next 5 months- in order to focus on making and producing new music. Looks like he’s keeping true to his word. Definitely something to get excited about and look forward to.

Skrillex – The Leaving EP
0I don’t think anyone saw this coming. Skrillex dropped a 3 song EP last night inside The Nest. For all of you that don’t know what The Nest is, it’s an insider group created by OWLSA to help share the latest and greatest music coming from them. Yes, you have to pay a small monthly fee, but in cases like this it is so worth it. Although the EP is short, it’s the first music we have heard from the Master of Dubstep in quite some time. It’s refreshing to know that he is still on his game and has a lot of music in his arsenal. The best part? We got all 3 songs as a FREE download for you guys! Enjoy!
“hello everybody
first of all, i want to thank you so much for supporting the Nest. this is not about changing the music industry now, it’s about supporting great and forward thinking tools like drip.fm to connect us on a more personal level. the fact that we have a direct way to give you guys content without any of the red tape that the normal distribution mediums have makes it really easy fun for us and gives us a new platform to be creative and spontaneous. we hope you know that we put a great effort into providing awesome stuff straight to you.
Here are some songs that i put together for an ep that came together last minute. scary bolly dub is a song I’ve been playing in my sets for a while. I use it more as a dj tool, but I wanted you guys to have it.
The reason and Leaving came together last minute. I made Leaving in my hotel room in mexico and just finished the Reason an hour ago in my hotel room in miami. I guess it’s just kind of a reflection of how I’m feeling right now. Hope you guys enjoy these quality wavs.
sincerely,
sonny moore”

The All-American Rejects – Heartbeat Slowing Down (Flatline Version)
0
It’s not so much that I’m crazed about The All-American Rejects, although I will admit to having sang along a couple times to their oh-so-catchy singles over the years. Their upcoming Flatline EP due out this coming Tuesday 11/13 will feature remixes by SKRILLEX, JEFF BHASKER v. TYLER JOHNSON and “HEARTBEAT SLOWING DOWN (FLATLINE VERSION)” and the thought of Skrill remixing these guys makes me equally excited and nervous. Hate it or love it, electronic music and the remix culture is creeping into all portions of the mainstream music scene and this is just another example to add to the growing list.
