Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash – Reload ft. John Martin (Vocal Mix)

Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash - Reload ft. John Martin (Vocal Mix)

This is about as progressive house as progressive house can get. Without the additional vocals of John Martin, this Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash collab was a bit lacking for me. It’s not that I don’t think it’s music that will get you absolutely WILD at a festival/live setting, I’d just like the breakdowns in the songs I listen to to include more than just a repeat of the same 8 bars in different voices. That said, this is perfectly timed to coincide with the quickly approaching festival season where I’m sure this song will be blared out countless times.

Skrillex, Zedd, Sebastian Ingrosso & Others Sign Residencies at New Las Vegas Club LIGHTS w/ Cirque du Soleil

Skrillex, Zedd, Sebastian Ingrosso Others Sign Residencies at New Las Vegas Club LIGHTS w Cirque du Soleil

Love it or hate it, the electronic music phenomenon is in it for the long haul. Turns out that the people at Cirque du Sole are on board to help Skrillex begin his residency at newly opening Las Vegas nightclub LIGHTS in the Mandalay Bay hotel on April 26th. Moving from the main stage of major music festivals to the cutting edge of club life will be an adjustment for Sonny Moore but thankfully he doesn’t have to go it alone. The Vegas club is also bringing in 1/3 of Swedish House Mafia in Sebastian Ingrosso and up & coming superstar Zedd who has been helping Lady Gaga on her upcoming Artpop album. In the Rolling Stone article that you can see in the hat-tip below, Skrillex is described as “cautious” of using the Cirque du Sole dancers as a part of his show:

“It’s not about having acrobats for my set,” he says. “For me, personally, the objective is to have something based around your music and something you want to dance to, not something you want to stare at the whole time. But how do you make the environment completely immersive? I think that’s the goal for my show, at least.”

Zedd goes on to add that his time working with Lady Gaga has really brought him to think of the live performance of his music in a different way:

“Gaga’s a really great example. We’ve seen all sorts of production in dance music, but when I personally watched her production for the first time, I was reminded of how much there is we did not think of yet, and one big part of it is maybe the human touch,” he says. “We can have the brightest lights and everything we want to have, but what I liked about Gaga’s show was [that] there’s a lot of humanity; there are a lot of dancers and it’s almost like a theater play with music. I could see parts of that in the whole LIGHT concept.”

Regardless, this is just another huge step in the world of electronic dance music and further proof that it’s traction in the mainstream and business lights is here to stay. Sound off in the comments with which DJ you’d wanna see get a residency in Sin City!

Miike Snow – Bavarian #1 (Say You Will) [Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix]

When I first heard the unfinished version of this remix a few months ago, it was apparent it was going to be huge. Now that we have the totally finished version, it’s obvious why Miike Snow chose this remix. Following in the footsteps on Thomas Gold, Dirty South, and Sebastian Ingrosso, and their catalog defining remixes, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman get the honor of being chosen in the Miike Snow tradition of one remix per track, which makes it even more special for the two Stockholm natives.

Staying true to their big room progressive sound, Vangelis & Wyman give us another track that will stand tall among the many releases we see today. It will be released December 17th on Robotberget.

Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash – ID (Jakob Liedholm’s Set Fire Edit)

I’ll give you a fool-proof recipe for a progressive house banger. First, add equal parts Swedish mafioso Sebastian Ingrosso & Aussie rock star DJ Tommy Trash, then let 15 year old Jakob Liedholm sprinkle in some Adele vocals and arena sized synths, and finally let it marinate through some Bose speakers over your ears. The result is a ridiculous Avicii-esque anthem on par with those that were played out at Met Life Stadium this past weekend for the Electric Daisy Carnival.

Live Preview – Usher – Euphoria ft. Swedish House Mafia

I couldn’t be happier that EDM and mainstream music are finding themselves at this crossroads. Any new Swedish House Mafia track can automatically promoted to anthem status but for those of you who have ever wondered what would happen if you put Usher over one of their BANGERS, this clip from their latest show might be able to give you a glimpse. Usher’s vocals are monsterous and the production from the trio of Ingrosso, Axwell, and Angello is immaculate so enjoy the clip and I’ll be keeping an eye out for a release date to bring you guys!

House – Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso – Calling (Mario Larrea Vocal Remake)

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve heard a real big progressive house rework and thankfully, Mario Larrea has come through in the clutch. He puts together a beautiful rework of Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso‘s astronomically successful anthem Calling, replacing Ryan Tedder’s vocals in favor of a female vocalist and even changes the entire top melody.

Enjoy!

House – Sebastian Ingrosso, Steven Angello & Alesso – Eclipse (Why Am I Doing This)

When 2/3 of the Swedish House Mafia and the Swedish heatseeker Alesso collaborate on a track you are right to have huge expectations. It will come as a relief then that the release falls nowhere short of what we thought it would be an in some instances even eclipses that mark. This is gonna be played at some major shows in the future so get a hold of this new one and enjoy!
