Let’s start with a couple facts. I hate radio rips; between the shitty quality and the ridiculous laugh tags, it’s almost enough to make me not want to listen. My bitching aside, this track is huge. The addition of Big Boi to the already monster collaboration of Frank Ocean and Andre 3000 not only marks the first track that features the entirety of Outkast back together on one track, but just makes for an absolute classic. You gotta know that 3K on a verse is automatic gold so we’ll be sure to update with full quality ASAP.

After announcing the commercial re-release of his 2011 free LP, 1977, The-Dream now delivers one of the bonus tracks off the new version of the album. Say what you want about my boy Frank Ocean & The Weeknd, but their songwriting will always pale in comparison to Terius. “AK47″ isn’t as impressive as most of the songs on the free LP, but it’s still worth a listen. On this J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League produced track, “Sixteen”, Ross and André 3000 go in for eight minutes, reminiscing on the path they’ve walked that’s gotten them to where they are now. I have to say, that to me, these are some – key word some, not only – of the best verses I’ve heard 3 Stacks spit lately (this and Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter”). Respect to them both.

With reports running rampant this week surrounding Frank Ocean’s sexual orientation, the soon-to-be iconic figure’s (if I can say so myself) debut LP couldn’t have been released at a better/more controversial time. Def Jam’s original release date, slated for next Tuesday (July 17), was only hours ago suddenly bumped up a week. “channel ORANGE” hopefuls can now find the album on iTunes and enjoy an incredible body of work from one of music’s most important figures. I say important because of his imprint on pop culture and society, two words that (to some) neighbor each other in definition and are always in search of new figures of inspiration and brilliance. Two freebies are provided below because we love you, but we highly recommend you go out and support the music.

Sorry for the silence on our end over the last couple days so here’s a bit of house keeping. First of all for those of you who happened to somehow missed it Frank Ocean released another single off of his next album Channel Orange via his Tumblr, this one by the name of Sweet Life. In other Frank related news he came out of the closet and announced his homosexuality earlier in the week and I personally have to say congrats and hope that ignorant people don’t listen to his unbelievable music any differently.

“No Church In The Wild” continues the trend of outside-the-box music videos for Kanye West. And although this one isn’t exactly abstract, it still aims to story tell and depict an environment rather than stunt and be flashy. I support Kanye in his artistic maturation/exploration. I think it’s important for culture and society (as I think he knows that and accepts the role in challenging the creative limits of others in this ever expanding world). Oh yea, Jay-Z’s verse was tight too.
