So I got the chance to see Hardwell live on Friday night at Pacha NYC and my god did he put on a show. After seeing him twice in 2012, I do not know if I have seen someone throw together a more impressive set than 23-year-old producer Hardwell. Not only did he drop some still-to-be-identified tracks, but he unleashed his bomb Apollo with vocals from the wonderful Amba Shepherd. Today he officially released the track, and it is everything a Hardwell fan can hope for. It boasts an entrancing synth melody that will be stuck in your head all day, which eventually leads into a drop that will keep you up all night. Take a listen and download below!

This is an absolutely monstrous record from DJ Khaled. I held off putting up the version with Funk Master Flex’s unbelievably annoying tags all over it. Scarface and Nas put down absolutely classic-caliber verses surrounding their woman (hip-hop) although Nasir Jones is just absolutely out of his mind right now with the quality of his tracks. The production from J.U.S.T.C.E. League is second to none on big live instrumentation tracks (see Maybach Music Pt. 2) and provides the perfect soundscape for these two veteran MC’s to go to work. By the way, props to DJ Premier stickin to the turntables in 2012 and doing what’s gotten him to the top of the hip-hop music world.

We gotta give it up to Hit-Boy for making the list of producers to cross over from behind the boards to behind the mic on the release of his free album HITstory. The man behind the monster tracks Goldie by A$AP Rocky and Ni**as In Paris from Jay-Z & Kanye now puts his lyrical skills to the test and while it’s not The College Dropout, there’s undoubtable potential here with a couple gems like the track Fan and his absolute BANGER Busta A** Ni**as with Chip Tha Ripper & Bun B. He puts his G.O.O.D Music connections to good use with features from KiD CuDi, Big Sean & John Legend and a full tape worth of unbelievable production. There’s so much to like here you gotta grab the download and find out for yourself, I find it hard to imagine you being dissapointed.

I’ve been waiting for this day for almost a year now. We finally get our newest taste of official audio from Mumford & Sons from their next studio album Babel. If you’re looking for more cuts from the album, scan through YouTube for more live performances seeing as though most of their newest material is written and premiered while the boys are on the road. These guys capture the expression of purely enraptured music and joy in their songs which I can’t seem to find anywhere else. You can pre-order Babel through their website here which you best believe I’ve had done for a while now.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that The Knocks are in full-blown work mode this summer giving out all sorts of releases and mixes, all of which are unbelievable. Their newest effort brings their signature sound to a Daft Punk kinda sounding feel good dance track fit to bring all sorts of good vibes to your next party. Also, ThisSongIsSick is starting a new 15 Minute Minimix series with this duo getting the kickoff edition and I’ll tell you that I can’t believe 45 tracks from Animal Collective to Skrillex to Justice to Drake packed in that tight sound this amazing. While we still have a couple months left to go until the release of 2 Chainz debut album Based on a T.R.U Story, the hype surrounding it is reaching a fever pitch. This leak featuring Lil Wayne certainly adds fuel to the fire although anything with Wayne’s name attatched gets hyped through the ceiling regardless of whether it’s good or bad. If you go in with the understanding that your not exactly getting Maya Angelou style poetry, the track is a definite banger.

Putting up songs like this is what makes me excited about being in the position that I’m in now. A friend of mine hit me up a little while ago and told me that his boy from Syracuse just released a mixtape and that I should check it out. After letting it sit for a couple days I took a listen and I can honestly tell you I’m totally blown away. Everything about it from beat selection to production quality to lyrical content was absolutely on point so with great pleasure allow me to introduce you to Virgman and his debut video for Back In The day as well as his On The Rocks EP.

St. Lucia is a producer from New York that shows the result of a childhood mastery of classical music and a love of atmospheric synth pop. His remix of the Passion Pit single Constant Conversations from the hugely successful Goassamer album is beautifully ambient while still preserving all the raw emotion from the original version. Speaking of which I just happened upon the official video for the original which is a beautiful visual to accompany the amazing song. Mac JUST let loose a cut that will appear on his collaborative EP with Pharrell, “Pink Slime”. I dig the energy Pharrell is bringing to his music game as of the last 6 months (something he admittedly stated he was lacking the last few years). Glad to see certain artists and areas of music are exciting him again. Dope track.
