I’ll be the first to admit that I slept big time on Dj Snake and the Bird Machine craze so much to the point where I don’t even have a post for you guys (check it on SoundCloud right here though). This marks yet another win for Mad Decent getting behind this Parisian talent early and just today he’s released his own edit of 2 Chainz’ Birthday Song that has been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Dillon Francis, A-Trak, Diplo & more…yeah it’s that good. This is an perfectly crafted, club-directed dance floor destroyer that employs the same open soundscape as recent hits like Sandro Silva & Quintino’s anthem Epic.

This post right here is confirmation that it is in fact the most wonderful time of the year. Sazon Booya is just blowing the roof off the moombahton scene with no sign of stopping any time soon and TNJ couldn’t be hapier. They released this downright disgusting remix of Birthday Song which is slowed down to that sexy 110 BPM and pumped full of their signature gritty synths and the type of energy to make a crowd go buckwild. If that wasn’t enough, we also got the visual trailer for the Oye Mami EP, which has 3 unreleased tracks including the title track which came close to melting my brain when they opened for Knife Party in NYC in May.
The EP drops on January 24th for FREE and if THAT wasn’t enough, it just became public knowledge that Sazon Booya has been added to the lineup at Pier 94 this Sunday alongside names like Diplo, Afrojack and Rusko. WHAT!? Be sure to grab the free download and keep an eye out for the Oye Mami EP as well as some of the TNJ crew at Pier 94 when we start the New Years celebrations a bit early with some huge acts!

I know that Scott has said this in earlier posts but it bears repeating; a lot of the music we listen to is really dependent on context. I’m pretty sure this song was past saving lyrically but adding Rick Ross & Diddy to this track is as effective as doing CPR on a rock. This is always on heavy rotation at any party I’m at and its no surprise why. The song is a BANGER so any remix is a good remix as far as the vibe so grab the download and enjoy!

I completely understand the motive behind this Kanye West production – I’ve heard a lot of people question this style coming from the Chicago-based rapper/producer. The beat, which compliments 2 Chainz trap-fueled sound, was tailor made for him. To this day, I know ‘Ye could bring back the “old” him at any moment and blow away 90% of the producers on the current scene (maybe more). But Kanye has established a healthy relationship with the ATL man-of-the-moment and is doing what any smart man would do, cater to his strengths. It’s fine to disagree, but think about that train of thought while listening to this highly anticipated second single off 2 Chainz’s debut LP “Based On A T.R.U. Story”. Clean version for now.
