Avicii & ABBA to Release Collaboration from Eurovision 2013 Intro Song

Avicii & ABBA to Release Collaboration from Eurovision 2013 Intro Song

This Avicii & ABBA collaboration is awesome for what it’s not: a festival tune. Sounding something like a graduation song meets a church hymn meets a broadway musical, the track served as the Eurovision 2013 intro song and is definitely a step in a…different… direction for Tim Bergling. It’s become apparent that he’s is looking to make more artistic waves than what was left behind from the pop/mainstream takeover of Levels (See: banjo + kazoo at Ultra for his single with Aloe Blacc) but this really does show an entirely different side of the Swedish producer. I can say that after this, I can safely say I have NO idea what to expect from his upcoming album TRUE; I can only hope that this was a one time experiment in production.

AVICII – PROMO MIX 2013 – INCLUDING NEW ALBUM TRACKS

AVICII - PROMO MIX 2013 - INCLUDING NEW ALBUM TRACKS

Avicii is one of the hardest artists to figure out my standing on seeing as though it changes almost monthly. He was my introduction to electronic music after I downloaded like 30 of his songs and really dug into them and he really does put his heart into producing. Him and his manager Ash Pournouri of At Night Management know how to market him unlike anything I’ve ever seen whether it’s Ralph Polo Lauren, his own hotel at Ultra, or just throwing down the most controversial Ultra set that’s been heard in a while, Tim Bergling is never quiet. He just released this promo mix which showcases his undeniable mixing ability and new songs like his collaboration with Aloe Blacc and possibly(?) Lana Del Rey on his snazzy new SoundCloud!

Avicii – X You

Avicii-X-You

This is more a post of news-worthiness than anything else because although most progressive house kinda sounds the same to me, it’s worth a post when Avicii combines samples submitted from over 4000 people from 140 different countries. He partnered up with Ericsson to crowd source a hit song and took winning samples from Kian Seng (melody), Naxsy (bassline), Martin Kupilas (beat & rhythm), ВАНЯ ХАКСИ (break) and Christian Westphalen, Mateusz Kolata & Jonathan Madray (effects)to construct this song. Although this only adds to the fact that this guy is just a walking talking gimmick with sponsorship deals with Ralph Polo Lauren and having his own hotel to rent out for WMC. Grab the track on iTunes if you like and check the video below!

Avicii – Three Million (Your Love Is So Amazing) ft. Negin

Avicii - Three Million (Your Love Is So Amazing) ft. Negin

I’m gonna be honest for a second; I’m not sure how Avicii has earned all the hate that flies his way constantly. I understand that after hearing Levels for the 389823297th time even his most hardcore fans wanted to just end the misery and I’ve seen this guy DJ live and I’m gonna be honest…nothing crazy special. However this guys skills in production are absolutely top notch and it should be noted that DJing and production are two WILDLY different skill sets. This track is a free release as a token of gratitude for his (you guessed it) three MILLION Facebook fans that have shown their support with a big ole’ thumbs up. This has the darker stylings that are usually reserved for his Tim Berg moniker but I’m glad to see he’s letting a bit of crossover.

Avicii & Nicky Romero – I Could Be The One (Synchronice Remix)

Avicii & Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One (Synchronice Remix)

Have we mentioned that there is literally no sound Synchronice can’t master? This time they take the monster Avicii [who's renting out an entire hotel as his own during Ultra Music Festival if you didn't hear] and Nicky Romero collaboration I Could Be The One (formerly Nicktim/Fuck School) and infuse equal parts progressive, big room dutch house and electro into 6 minutes of absolute madness. The Saulsky brothers once again prove why its invaluable to listen to a track the whole way through; the first and second breakdowns are 10000% different and equally impressive. Expect a remix of Far East Movement from them out on Interscope Records and if you want a “you heard it here first” moment there’s a real high likelihood of a remix of Datsik. I’m not sayin…I’m just sayin.

Avicii & Nicky Romero – I Could Be The One (Stranger) (Nicktim Vocal Mix)

Avicii & Nicky Romero – I Could Be The One (Stranger) (Nicktim Vocal Mix)

I’ve gotta say that as time has passed, the magic of a lot of early Avicii production that got me started on electronic music has passed but there are certain tracks that are just too good to deny. His collaboration with Nicky Romero has the perfect melody and synths that just makes you wanna move and after working titles and low quality rips of it’s former name “Fuck School” “Nicktim” and “Stranger” circulating the internet, we finally have the full quality final vocal version for you guys. I’m just plowin through finals so my posts will be kinda sporadic so hold tight!

Avicii – Tim [Unreleased Instrumental]

Avcii & the At Night Management have let go this real short unreleased instrumental from his older productions. Nothing too special here but anything from the Swedish golden boy is news worth and with Tim Bergling rolling through the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton tonight (full show review to come), I figured it was only appropriate to spread the love.

Avicii feat. Mike Posner – Stay With You [Preview] (OverLine Edit)

Who has perfected the art of mainstream better than Avicii and Ash? Creating the anthem that is synonymous with the American dance music explosion, bringing Madonna out to his mainstage set at Ultra, endorsements from Ralph Lauren and now linking up with Mike Posner? All that’s left is a deal with Starbucks and he’ll be on Lady Gaga’s level. This is an extended preview of their upcoming single edited by OverLine so that you can enjoy it for just a little longer!

Avicii – The Making Of “Dancing In My Head” (In The Studio)

In Autumn 2011, Future Music Magazine headed to Stockholm to spend the day in the studio with the then rapidly rising house star Tim Bergling aka Avicii to see him create the basics of a new remix. That track would become Eric Turner vs. Avicii – “Dancing In My Head”. Sit back and enjoy over an hour of Avicii at work.
