CHANGE. – Bomb (Zedd x Audien x The Killers x Matthew Koma x Deadmau5)

CHANGE. - Bomb (Zedd x Audien x The Killers x Matthew Koma x Deadmau5)

I stand by the fact that it is reeeeeeeally easy to make a really bad mashup but there’s some serious skill that involves making legitimately good mashups. We’ve featured CHANGE. on numerous occasions (most recently for his remix of Summit) and this time he comes through with a track that perfectly combines elements of 5 different artists…from his mouth below:

If you’ve been following my Music for some time now, you’ll know I started off doing what every other person trying to make it in this business did/does – Mashups. I try to think my style of doing these repetitive things separates me from the rest of the storming herd. Anyway, I hope you you enjoy this blend of amazing original tunes from my personal favorite collection.

3LAU – I Could Be The Bass (3LAU Bootleg)

3LAU - I Could Be The Bass (3LAU Bootleg)

This is just too awesome to see. With their remix of I Could Be The One having been blared at full volume over the Ultra Music Festival speakers courtesy of Porter Robinson, the Saulsky brothers of Synchronice have found their track being used again by none other than 3LAU. Their remix is the focus of the third installment of his March Mash Monday series in combination with remixes of Brohammer from Nari & Milani as well as the MakJ remix of All Gold Everything…and the 100000000% overused In My Mind acapella which I’ll try to ignore.

3LAU – I Could Be The Bass (3LAU Bootleg)

Track Listing:
Avicii & Nicky Romero – Could Be The One (Synchronice Remix)
Georgi Kay – In My Mind (Acapella)
Topher Jones – Brohammer (Nari & Milani Remix)
Trinidad James – All Gold Everything (MakJ Remix)

Another Brick In The Wall (Koyote Bootleg) Pink Floyd, Jason Risk, Eric Prydz

It should be very apparent by now that I’m not a huge mashup fan…at all. When done right, there’s nothing better for your sets; this mashup of Pink Floyd, Jason Risk and Eric Prydz is a certified dance floor breaker. When your teetering on that line of familiar, interesting and face-melting you kinda know you got something good going. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for Koyote and definitely a good pickup by the guys over at FITA so grab the free download and enjoy!

3LAU - 3LAU HAUS #10 (Don't Blink)

I really hope that people are willing to let 3LAU shake the tag of just being a “mashup DJ”, although I’m fairly certain we’re past that. This 10th edition of the 3LAU HAUS features a whole assortment of Beatport-topping singles being seemlessly blended with vocals from your favorite Top 40 and electronic tracks. TNJ favorites Synchronice found their way on with their remix of I Could Be The One and it’s awesome to see 3LAU show some love for the Mikkas remix of Unison by Porter Robinson. Justin Blau moves through 22 tracks in 28 minutes with perfect mixing precision and only goes to further the sentiment that he is going to have a MONSTER 2013.

Zedd, R3hab, & Steve Aoki ft. Don Omar – “Ven a Mi” (5 & A Dime Bootleg)

5 a dime me a ti

It’s not that I dislike mashups. In fact, mashups are what a ton of people actually think you’re doing when they see someone DJing. It’s just so easy to make a bad mashup that when guys like 5 & A Dime do it, you can see all that is good coming out of the scene. This song pits together 7 different tracks including Follow You Down by Zedd, Phat Brahams and the Don Omar track Danza Kuduro amongst others. We’ll obviously be bringing you his next album #BASSMOB III: The Final Frontier when it drops on January 21st so grab the download and enjoy!

Basto & Zedd – Stormchaser vs Fall Into The Sky (Chuckie Mashup)

DJ Chuckie

This mash from Chuckie may be simple, but it BANGS. “Fall Into The Sky” has been a massive track since it dropped back in October and Basto’s electro track “Stormchaser’s” drop is not to be messed with. Chuckie provides the imagination to bring together these two tracks as a perfect match and release it for free; the tracks go back and forth between the drop from “Stormchaser” and the vocal build up of “Fall Into The Sky”!

Pretty Lights vs. The End Of The World 2012

pretty lights end of the world 2012

Sometimes the talents of Derek Vincent Smith aka Pretty Lights just flat out astound me. One of his most appealing characteristics to me is his appreciation of not only what is good about new music, but keeping his roots with him and infusing his sounds with those that were big in the past. Placing Black Sabbath over his own drum tracks, adding in lyrics from The Doors and R.E.M.’s end of the world anthem, and then a hip-hop verse just goes to show that his work is truly innovative and expansive. Good on ya man, TNJ loves what comes out of the speakers when the Pretty Lights name is attached.

RL Grime vs Big Sean - Oh Gawd (3LAU Mashtrap)

I am finally done with finals. There has never been a more necessary time for a break and with that said, there is a TON of music I’m going to have to catch you guys up on. Although my night tonight will be spent celebrating and tomorrow I’ll be driving, I’ll do my best to get as much of what I missed out to you guys and maybe just do one post with a ton of SoundCloud links to save some time. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to see a brand new booty from 3LAU mashing up RL Grime’s huge Satisfaction remix with the vocals from Clique appropriately titled with Big Sean’s larger than life ad-libs.
