Fall Out Boy – Save Rock and Roll (Full Album Stream)
For all 4 of the Fall Out Boy die-hards out there (just kidding my inner 15 year old is wildin out too), we have the full album stream for their upcoming album Save Rock and Roll out on 4/15 or 4/16 depending no where in the world you are. I gotta say that after having listened to and learned a lot about considerably different music since the last time I listened to Fall Out Boy, their actual production is damn impressive and really matured; I’m sold. Hit the jump for a free (unfortunately low-quality) download of their collaboration with Big Sean titled The Mighty Fall.

Primal Scream – It’s Alright, It’s OK
Scottish rockers Primal Scream hit the scenes back in 1982 with a Stones-inspired, acid-rock, psychedelic sound. Today the band is back to show us they have something new, yet nostalgic, in store with their 10th album – More Light.
‘It’s Alright, It’s OK,’ is a toe-tapping trip off the new album that shows us that the band is still attached to their garage-rock, psychedelic roots, and the song is accompanied by a old school looking video filmed in B&W around NYC. The track is chock full of cascading acoustic guitar sounds, peppy bongo rhythms, solid piano chords, a bright gospel choir, and some catchy feel-good lyrics.
Primal Scream’s latest LP makes it way into stores on May 13. Ooooh la la…

Passenger – Let Her Go
Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) is a talented folk/rock singer hailing from Britain. His track ‘Let Her Go’ is too good to not share this Sunday evening. It is vulnerable, full of wisdom, and possesses a lovely, humbling melody. The singer reminds us that people tend to take things for granted until they are gone, but holding on to a small ray of hope is still worthwhile. Lyrics posted below – peace, love, respect and humility TNJers.
Well you only need the light when its burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you’ll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you’ll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies…

Magic Man – Paris
Magic Man is an indie pop/rock band hailing from the Northeast – Providence, RI to be exact. Their latest release, ‘Paris,’ opens with a bright piano melody that has a bit of a Matt and Kim vibe. The piano is met by an easy-on-the-ears, synth-pop backdrop and soft, charming vocals that tie the tune together. This is a verrrry smooth listen friends, enjoy.

Phoenix – Entertainment
0I was halfway out the door when my phone alerted me that Phoenix has finally released the first song off their upcoming album Bankrupt (set for release the week of April 22nd 2013.) Needless to say, I turned around immediately to share this with you all. The song is titled ‘Entertainment,’ and I assure you, listening to this song is just that.
First, I cannot even explain how excited I am that the French indie superstars are back with both their familiar sound in tact and Thomas Mars vocals on point. The band has arranged a tour to promote the new album throughout Europe and the U.S., but it fails to mention any NYC dates currently. For now I suppose i’ll have to just keep my fingers crossed and my ears open. Enjoy this one guys, it’s definitely a mood booster. Ciao!

The Strokes – All The Time
0So today The Strokes released their new single ‘All the Time’ off their highly anticipated album, Comedown Machine. Earlier this month, we wrote about another Comedown Machine song release, ‘One Way Trigger,’ which was controversial in terms of fan reception. Rest assured folks, this track is both familiarity in its finest and nostalgic in every note.
‘All the Time’ pulses with a thumping backbone (courtesy of drummer Fabrizio Moretti) and upholds a classic, catchy Strokes melody sung by the wonderful Julian Casablancas. From the sounds of this tune, who knows, we may even have another ‘Is This It’ on our hands.
The album hits stores on March 26th via RCA Records, MARK IT DOWN.

Temples – Shelter Song + (Society Remix)
0I’m going to take you all on a bit of a psychedelic trip today. Ladies and gents, meet Tame Impalas brother and The Beatles love child – Temples. Temples is a brand new band straight from the UK who will release their debut, full-length album later this year – hurry please. ‘Shelter Song’ feels too good to be true, with each note literally melting as it enters my ears. Below is the official video for the trippy track, as well as the Society remix. The remix expands on the original by entangling it in spacey electronic fills and trickling harp sounds. I advise you all turn off your minds, relax and and embark on the hell of a magical mystery tour that is ‘Shelter Song.’

Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) [2 Chainz Edition]
0I’d be forced to call you a liar if you told me yesterday that I’d be mentioning Fall Out Boy & 2 Chainz in the same write-up today. First things first, Fall Out Boy ended a 3-year hiatus today with a press release announcing their next album Save Rock and Roll will be released May 6th with a supporting tour kicking off May 14th. If you couldn’t wait that long to relive your glory pop-punk high school days you can catch them this evening in Chicago at Subterranean, tomorrow in NYC at Webster Hall Studio and Wednesday at The Roxy in L.A. As if that wasn’t enough, the video for their lead single features 2 Chainz playing the role of the arsonist who kidnaps the van and lights all their stuff on fire. A bit of a different role than he will be playing on 2 Broke Girls…

Foals – My Number
0Oxford indie rock band Foals is returning this year with a new album, Holy Fire, set for release on Feb. 11th. ‘My Number’ is one of the most infectious singles on the album, and it seems like the band is truly giving other indie bands a run for their money this album around. Check out the bands fab performance of the tune live at the famous Abbey Road Studio in London below.

Parquet Courts – Borrowed Time
0Earlier this month, Brooklyn-based indie rock band Parquet Courts reissued their debut LP, Light Up Gold, via the independent record label What’s Your Rupture. ‘Borrowed Time’ is one of my fav tracks on this album – it is superbly noisy, edgy and EXACTLY what I needed to get going this morning. The track possesses a super catchy guitar riff, energetic and upbeat tempo, and is fused together by a punk-y collaboration of vocals and jittery hi-hat tapping.
Below I’ve also posted the album-titled ‘Light Up Gold’ track for your listening pleasure as well. Cheers and Happy Thursday err’body.
