It’s not that I didn’t believe Willy Joy when he told us in our exclusive interview to look out for Gent & Jawns. We’ve been following the DC duo’s climb since their monster remix of Diplo’s track Express Yourself but this mix just about sums up everything I’m about right now. Lots of moombah, a lot of the tracks have some sort of vocal, they found a way to weave in some trap and kept the energy high the whole time. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I knew/wanted almost 95% of the tracks on here and the way that they’ve perfectly strung them together for this Diplo & Friends set puts them at the top of my list of most wanted to see.

After weeks of being teased, its about time for us to Get Lucky. The new single from the legendary electronic group Daft Punk dropped today giving us a taste of their new album Random Access Memories, in which they joined up with renowned artists and producers such a Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder to bring us a world of dance music never before heard. Will this be the album of the decade? Will our minds be blown? Right now only the robots know.
Random Access Memories is said to be released on May 21st.

We got the first official release from SAV (formerly of Sazon Booya) in his collaboration with up and coming producer Happy Colors. I gotta say my personal favorite is the toned-down controlled chaos of Pow Pow while the latin flare of Calle Luna Calle Boom is a sure fire dance floor destroyer.
There were a lot of remaining ideas I wanted to flesh out with Sazon Booya. Happy Colors is an up and coming producer who helped materialize a lot of unfinished ideas. Big ups to him for collaborating with me on this project! Special thanks for the fans as well! Without their words of encouragement and support this EP wouldn’t exist.

I can only imagine what this could have possibly sounded like blasting over the monster Ultra Music Festival sound system. Now I know everyone has had their fill of Harlem Shake remixes but in all seriousness when CAZZETTE decides to give Baauer’s hit track a remix, you know you’re only getting the best. Ash Pournouri has struck gold twice with the At Night Management tag team of CAZZETTE and Avicii and it seems they’re doin so well that they can give this one out for FREE! LUZCID is the collaborative musical duo of Neil Berry and Jonathan Bartz. Currently based out of New Paltz, NY, the pair, in my opinion, should be commended for their ability to blend a multitude of genres and styles, while still creating a unique and tasteful sound. Their Shot Caller LP, which was just released earlier today, is a prime example of exactly that. Consisting of 5 original tracks and 2 remixes, it is a satisfying mix of diverse trapstyle tunes, that are guaranteed to have your bass kicking, and your feet moving. We may only be 4 months into 2013, but the duo has already opened for artists such as gLAdiator, Alvin Risk, and DJ Sliink, and is scheduled to play at the Bella Terra Music Festival, Forest Fest, and the Freedom of Expression Music Festival. With that said, look for 2013 to be a huge year for LUZCID! And be sure to cop their new Shot Caller LP!

As one of my introductions to electronic music, Pretty Lights will always hold a special place in my heart and confirmed release dates for upcoming projects are always a plus for me. Tonight he confirmed that his upcoming album A Color Map of the Sun will be released 7/2 for free via his own label PLM and gave out the lead single Around The Block which features vocals from none other than Talib Kweli.
“It has been 2 years, 5 months and 24 days since I last released a record. I am properly delighted to announce the release of my new full-length album “A Color Map of the Sun.” I began work on this album/project/experiment in February of 2011 and spent a year creating my own vinyl collection of everything I needed to produce the album I heard in my head. There are few things better to me personally than a mix that toes the line between beautiful and brutal in the way that only Adventure Club seems to be able to do. They have started up their Superheroes Anyonymous mix series to follow the mix that the Canadian duo did for Life In Color. The mix ranges from dubstep to electro to trap and everything in between and is of course mixed to absolute perfection.
