Rudimental Ft. John Newman- Feel The Love (Kill Paris Remix)

Kill Paris put his name on the map back in late February with his To A New Earth EP, out now on the OWSLA label. This man is at it again with his newest remix to Rudimental’s year old single featuring John Newman. This LA based producer makes music so funky that you almost think the White Cherry’s song “Play that funky music white boy” is about him, and this song is no different. I had the pleasure of seeing the debut of Kill Paris at his first Ultra Music Festival performance week one,  early on a Saturday afternoon and he certainly did not disappoint. A little bit into his set he announced to the crowd that he was about to play a new song and then this beauty came slamming through the speakers at the OWSLA stage. Be sure to give this one a listen, out now on Beatport.

Bruno Mars – Locked Out Of Heaven (The M Machine Remix)

I suffer the same form of resentment for Bruno Mars that I do for Katy Perry. Both of these artists have some serious pipes; hearing those pipes for the the 32098937298th time on the radio is enough to make me want to take a pipe to my head. For that reason, it’s always refreshing and welcomed by me to hear a song like Locked Out Of Heaven given a number of reworks and edits to keep it interesting. We gave you R3hab’s “afterhour” trap remix and today we have a beautiful and driving edit from The M Machine. The San Fransisco trio fill the track with powerful chords and ear-pleasing wobbles that really serve to accentuate the beautiful vocals.

dada life feed the dada thought & process remix

I really think this remix is incredible. Played it three times before I even began writing this post – something within the chorus is staying with me. Can’t seem to put my finger on it, but I dig it. Check out what the fellas had to say about the release below. Big ups to Thought & Process!

Well, the competition for this is long over, but we figured we should make it happen either way. Enjoy the DL!

Dirtyphonics – Dirty (Synchronice Remix)

Jeez these Saulsky brothers are BLOWIN up. From when I stumbled upon these guys in the opening days of this blog to their debut on Dim Mak Records (the record label that belongs to Steve Aoki for those who may not know), Synchronice has always impressed me with their versatility. Not only have they crafted their own distinct appealing sound, but they’ve been able to translate it to all styles of electronic music from moombah to dubstep, progressive house to electro, and everywhere in between. This time they get to do an amazing drumstep remix of a Dirtyphonics track and it comes as no surprise that this one is every bit as awesome as you’d expect it to be. Download’s free thanks to Dim Mak so snatch it up and enjoy!

Dirtyphonics – DIRTY (Single and Remixes)

DIRTY

Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records have steadfastly established themselves as one of the most prominent group of artists on the EDM scene today. The label’s French foursome Dirtyphonics dropped their newest dubstep single DIRTY about two weeks ago, and since its release, I haven’t been able to stop listening. The single is a monster, with an entrancing buildup taking you into a signature Dirtyphonics drop full of big bass and catchy melodies.

If the original isn’t quite your style, don’t worry. Along with the single came four different takes, with remixes from names like 12th Planet and Metrik. 12th Planet’s remix is an example of why following the trap genre’s evolution has become so fun. Watching big names put their spin on trap leaves me anxious to hear where else this genre can go. Nicolas Malinowsky also puts out a wonderful trap remix that might hit closer to home for all of you out there who enjoy the ‘classic’ style of trap that we’ve come to know.

Metrik creates a wonderful Drum n Bass remix with enough twists and turns to keep you interested and engaged throughout the full 4:13. Darth & Vader contribute a wonderful electro-house remix, kicking up the pace from the original, but keeping the hard bass, ultimately making the remix a great banger with superb synth-work.

Make sure to give this track and the remixes a listen-through. If you enjoy it, grab the whole set on Beatport!

Kanye West – Heartless (Aaron Bond Remix)

0

Just came across this dope Aaron Bond remix to Ye’s 808′s & Heartbreak record “Heartless” this morning from one of my old DJ set lists. The reason Bond’s take did so well was because of the filtered syncopated drum rhythm that lead you to believe the song was at a much faster tempo than it actually was, allowing for a great mid-set dance track. Enjoy!

Madeon – Finale (Netsky Remix)

A hidden gem on the full EP for Madeon’s track The City, 18 year old French phenom Hugo Pierre Leclercq recruits the Belgian drum and bass force Netsky for an amazing remix. Stripping it down to the bare bones and adding ambient chord play, this one really took me back.

MONSTA – Holdin’ On (Skrillex & Nero Remix)

0

Looks like Skrillex & Nero are goin Birdy Nam Nam on OWSLA’s newest signee MONSTA. The British three piece electronic band gets a full blown drum n bass/drumstep face lift complete with the bass you get from NERO and all those wobbles you just know Sonny Moore’s gonna bring. The MONSTA EP is coming out in a few weeks with that collaboration between Dillon Francis & Kill Paris I’ve been predicting as well as remixes from Alvin Risk and other OWSLA contributors.

Sub Focus – Tidal Wave (Flosstradamus Remix)

As it turns out, there’s just way more to Flosstradamus than meets the eye. Besides just consistently runnin the trap better than almost anyone you can think of, these two hooded bringers of the bass have this beautiful drum n bass type remix that I stumbled on a couple days ago which features some absolutely stunning vocals on top of an unsurprisingly amazing production.

Birdy Nam Nam – Goin’ In (Skrillex “Goin’ Hard” Mix)

Once again Skrillex proving he is an amazing producer with this latest banger. For your hearing pleasure Sonny has also remixed this track into two different genres, “Skrillex Funky Remix” andSkrillex Trap Remix”. The “Goin’ Hard” a.k.a the Drum and Bass remix is by far my favorite remix of them all. OWSLA released this track on the Jaded Future EP.
