Verse Simmonds – Bout That Life ft. Young Jeezy

Verse Simmonds and Young Jeezy are two cats that are definitely “bout that life”. Not only leading a burgeoning career as a solo artist, Simmonds lines up alongside Sham to form the production duo, The Jugganauts (Jay-Z and Kanye West “Who Gon Stop Me”), while his guest is head of the Corporate Thugz Entertianment label, the recently-hired Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records, and not to mention one of the best rappers to ever emerge from the South.
But for their new collaboration, a relatively minimal, yet nonetheless club-catered, synth-lead number, the pair place the spotlight on the bad bitches of the world who are also “bout that life”. The track serves as the lastest sample of Simmonds’ “Sex, Love & Hip-Hop 2.0 Reloaded” project (“Sex, Love & Hip-Hop’s” sequel), which hits the ‘net for free on September 5th.

It ain’t broke, and so Enrique Iglesias isn’t trying to fix it. The Latin crooner’s new song “Finally Found You” premiered today, and it finds him sticking to the tried-and-true dance-pop formula that has kept him in the upper reaches of the charts since he first crossed over to pop stardom 13 years ago. Lyrically, this team-up with rapper Sammy Adams has Enrique asking his object of affection to ignore the advice of her friends and to stick with him till the end. Sparkling synths heighten his pleas on the upbeat tune – and who doesn’t love a guy who whispers sweet nothings and can give you a good beat to dance to at the same time? After we got to preview the madness, the result is even crazier than we could’ve expected. We knew that Deadmau5 & Gerard went all out for this one, with hundreds of extras recruited for some absolutely huge sequences and it’s certainly paid off. The video is full of excitement and energy and definitely makes out to be my favorite video of the summer. Enjoy!

“In My Own World” is only a sample of the impressive work this lyrical/production duo brings to the table. Upon my weekly ritual, I checked the iTunes charts this morning to find Kinetics & One Love sitting in the top 10 at number 8. If my opinion holds any weight, I’d recommend y’all to support their sophomore album “You Are Not Alone” and be on the lookout for them come 2013.

Dr. Dre Is No. 5 “Highest Paid Celebrity”

After a massive deal with HTC, Dr. Dre reaches the number 5 spot on Forbes’ “Highest Paid Celebrities” list.
Forbes released their annual “Highest Paid Celebrities” list and Aftermath Entertainment CEO, Dr. Dre, is the sole hip hop representative.
Dre is always amongst the highest paid men in hip hop with his producing credits and label ownership. After selling his majority ownership of 51% of Beats By Dre headphones for over a whopping $300 million, Dre comes in at a more than respectable number 5 on the “Highest Paid Celebrities” list. Thanks mostly in part to the over $110 million he cleared as part of his payout for selling his share in Beats with his deal with HTC.
The list predicts that Dr. Dre won’t be featured next year because the deal with HTC is what propelled him so high this year. Oprah Winfrey, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Jerry Bruckheimer rounded out the Top 5 on this year’s list.
